Description
What will I learn?
Master Black Belts must illustrate a broad range of skills that enable them to work with advanced Lean Six Sigma methodologies, work effectively with people and provide successful coaching and support.
For such a diverse role, delegates will need to show their dedication and commitment. For this reason, candidates will be assessed for their suitability to certify throughout the training, rather than only in the final exam.
Master Black Belt training can only be delivered in a classroom setting, so if you wish to become a Master Black Belt you must attend an open course or book an in-house session.
You’ll receive three hours of one-to-one coaching, as well as unlimited email advice from a Master Black Belt and lifelong learning support.
Learning outcomes
Master Black Belts are recognised in Lean Six Sigma organisations for their exceptional talents and ability to run multiple, complex and strategically important improvement projects. They also act as trainers, coaches and mentors to Yellow, Green and Black Belts.
The high salary reflects the high demands placed on the shoulders of a Master Black Belt, and the expectations employers have. The financial and soft benefits from effective process improvement can be staggering, and as Master Black Belts often run these programmes businesses need to be sure they’re employing the right person.
Following the course, you’ll be able to:
- Develop and deploy business improvement programmes
- Facilitate strategic planning discussions to identify issues in a business
- Deliver Lean Six Sigma training courses up to Black Belt level
- Coach and mentor Lean Six Sigma delegates up to Black Belt level
- Act as a change agent for any company
- Have confidence in your consultancy and leadership skills
- Effectively influence, engage stakeholders and use your emotional intelligence and change management skills
Following the training you will receive 250 CPD points and will be certified as a competent and effective Master Black Belt.
In order to certify you will need to demonstrate your exceptional knowledge throughout the training session and exam. You’ll also need to illustrate that you have successfully coached Green and Black Belts, and trained others in Lean Six Sigma methods.
Prerequisites
In order to attend this course you must have previously taken training to Black Belt level and have a portfolio of successful improvement project work that spans a minimum of two years and showcases your leadership, influencing and change management skills.
Prior to attending the course we ask that you:
- Review our online Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training as a refresher
- Ensure you have access to a laptop with Minitab 17
- Compile a portfolio of projects that you have worked on and coached others for
- Your portfolio should provide evidence to illustrate you have used all of the tools and techniques necessary to move up to Master Black Belt level
- You must also identify projects within your place of work that you intend to provide coaching for
The five-day course is intensive and so we ask you to ensure you are able to fully commit to immersing yourself in the training. Afterwards, you should engage with your Master Black Belt to ensure your portfolio and project work is at the standard to qualify for certification.
