How does SALSA certification compare to other standards in terms of ease and requirements?

SALSA’s a solid option if you’re a small food business—it’s way easier to get than BRCGS or ISO. The paperwork’s lighter, the audits are more chill, and it’s all designed to be practical for smaller setups. It’s recognised in the UK and great for local markets, but if you’re planning to grow big or go global, you’ll probably need to step up to something like BRCGS later. Perfect if you’re just starting out!

Yes, absolutely right. Everyone has to start their certification journey somewhere.
Salsa supports BRCGS START! which is a simplified version of the BRCGS Food Standard, so that's another option for small or new food businesses.
